Premier McGuinty Offers Condolences To Families Of Slain RCMP Officers

Office of the Premier

QUEEN'S PARK -- "On behalf of all Ontarians, I would like to express my condolences to the families and colleagues of the four Alberta police officers senselessly slain in the line of duty yesterday," said Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty.

"Our thoughts must go out to the families of those police officers," said Premier McGuinty. "This loss is an unspeakable tragedy."

"We often say, when police officers die in the line of duty, that it reminds us of the sacrifices they make every day to keep us safe and secure," said Minister of Community Safety and Correctional Services, Monte Kwinter.

"We must do everything we can to ensure the safety and well-being of those who dedicate their lives to our service," said Kwinter.

The people of Ontario extend their deepest sympathies to the families, friends and colleagues of the slain officers.
