By-Election Called In Scarborough-Rouge River

QUEEN'S PARK -- A writ was issued today under section 9 of the Election Act for a by-election in the riding of Scarborough-Rouge River to fill the vacancy created when MPP Alvin Curling accepted an appointment with the Government of Canada.

Under the Election Act, elections must be held on a Thursday, at least 28 days but no longer than 56 days from the date of the issue of the writ. Voting day will be November 24, 2005.
