Launches Ontario Trivia Challenge to Celebrate Ontario’s History And Diversity

Office of the Premier

Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty today posted a video greeting on his website to wish all Canadians a happy Canada Day.

"I'm very proud to join with you as we celebrate a very special day for all of us in this magnificent country -- Canada Day," said Premier McGuinty.

Premier McGuinty said Canadians are united by the powerful, noble ideal that everyone in Canada can find opportunity.

"All that matters is that if you're here, you're one of us and everybody in our country gets a fair shot at success," said Premier McGuinty.

Premier McGuinty also launched an Ontario Trivia Challenge on his website in honour of Canada Day.

The multiple-choice quiz includes 30 questions at easy, medium and hard levels. The quiz tests people's knowledge on everything from history and geography to sports and entertainment. Some of the questions include:

  • Who was Ontario's fourth premier?
  • Which Ontarian discovered McIntosh apples?
  • How many lakes are there in the province?

"Taking the Ontario Trivia Challenge is a great way to mark Canada Day," said Premier McGuinty. "Ontarians can test their knowledge of our great province and learn more about our rich history and diversity."
