Deputy Minister Appointments
Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty today announced the following Deputy Minister appointments effective September 18, 2006:
Fareed Amin as Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade and Deputy Minister of Small Business and Entrepreneurship. Mr. Amin is currently Deputy City Manager for the City of Toronto. He was formerly the Deputy Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs and the Deputy Minister of Citizenship and Immigration, responsible for Senior's and Women's Issues. He has held senior management positions in Cabinet Office and several ministries. Mr. Amin holds a Bachelor's Degree in Applied Geography and Planning from the University of Guyana and a Master of Public Administration from Queen's University.
David Lindsay as Deputy Minister of Tourism. Mr. Lindsay is currently the President and CEO of the Association of Colleges of Applied Arts and Technology. Formerly, he has held senior leadership positions within the Ontario Public Service including Chief Executive Officer of the Ontario SuperBuild Corporation, Ministry of Finance and President and CEO of the Ontario Jobs and Investment Board, Cabinet Office. Before joining the Ontario Public Service in 1997, Mr. Lindsay was Principal Secretary to the Premier of Ontario for two years. Mr. Lindsay holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Queen's University.
