Memorandums Of Understanding And Announcements

The following memorandums of understanding were signed on January 15, 2007 in New Delhi as part of Premier McGuinty's business mission to India.

  • The Ontario Chamber of Commerce and the Confederation of Indian Industry, Northern Region, agree to share information, expertise and resources; identify and facilitate further trade opportunities; and, advocate on issues affecting Ontario-India business relations to their respective governments.

  • McMaster University of Hamilton and the National Physical Laboratory will co-operate in the fields of engineering and science and jointly develop educational programs, industry-based training and research projects. They will exchange academic and scientific information and explore opportunities for faculty, researcher and student exchanges.

  • McMaster University's Faculty of Engineering and the Ansal Institute of Technology will create a Computer Science Transfer Program that gives Ansal Institute students the opportunity to apply to the Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Honours Computer Science at McMaster.

  • PCI Geomatics and Ramtech Corporation will enter into a MOU to develop a strategic partnership in the areas of research, innovation and investment for the creation of India-based GeoCapacity to provide vital information for food security, disaster planning and other applications requiring geospacial information.

  • Ryerson University will enter into individual agreements to facilitate student and faculty exchange programs; curriculum development and collaboration on research projects; capacity building and private sector training with three different organizations:

    1. National Institute of Fashion Technology, India

    2. Indian Retail School, New Delhi

    3. Pearl Academy of Fashion, New Delhi

  • The University of Waterloo and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi will strengthen its active faculty exchange program with additional collaborative research initiatives.  IIT Delhi will also partake in the Faculty Exchange Forum.

  • The University of Waterloo and IIT Kanpur are planning a Faculty Exchange Forum to form the foundation for collaborative research, student exchange and other initiatives.

  • The University of Windsor and the Ansal Institute, Gurgaon, Haryana will work to provide exchange opportunities for students.

  • The University of Windsor and Bengal Engineering & Science University in Howrah, India will develop collaborative research programs in areas of common interest, and faculty and post-graduate exchanges.

  • York University of Toronto and Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani, and its branches at Goa, Hyderabad and Dubai will promote both faculty and student exchanges.
