Promoting Ontario in the United Kingdom
Premier McGuinty Promotes Province At Canada-UK Chamber of Commerce
Ontario is a source of ideas and talent in the 21st century knowledge economy -- with a highly educated population, skilled workforce and strong financial sector. This was the message Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty delivered today in London, England.
The Premier spoke to the Canada-UK Chamber of Commerce about the advantages of investing in Ontario. He reminded the audience that leading edge technologies, like the BlackBerry, were created in our province. The Premier also talked about world famous researchers working in Ontario, and pointed out that the province has a higher percentage of people with postsecondary degrees than any other place in the western world.
Today, Premier McGuinty also rang the opening bell at the London Stock Exchange, attended a reception for financial investors and spoke at the London School of Economics. Tomorrow, he will take part in a science roundtable to highlight the growth of Ontario's biotechnology sector.
