New China Partnership Benefits Ontario's Students

Premier McGuinty’s 2013 Trade Mission Moves to Nanjing

Ontario forged a new partnership with the Chinese province of Jiangsu today that will help Ontario and China's ties grow stronger.

Premier Dalton McGuinty was in Nanjing, the capital of Jiangsu, to help announce a new faculty exchange agreement between Western University in London, Ontario, and Nanjing University. Nanjing University specializes in science, medicine, engineering and technology. The agreement will enhance collaboration in research and education and create a richer learning experience for students in China and Ontario, and help Western explore new opportunities in China.

The Premier also got a look inside the WORLDiscoveries lab at Nanjing University, a joint project with Western University. The lab is a hub for technological innovation that allows researchers in China and Ontario to share their expertise and market their discoveries.

Premier McGuinty also met with Nanjing Executive Vice Mayor Zheng Zeguang, Jiangsu Party Secretary Luo Zhijun, Jiangsu Governor Li Xueyong and hosted at a banquet by Jiangsu Vice Governor Xu Jinrong.
