Lieutenant Governor To Deliver Ontario Speech From The Throne

Office of the Premier

The Honourable David C. Onley, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, will deliver the Speech from the Throne. This will open the second session of the 40th Parliament of Ontario.

Date:Tuesday, February 19, 2013
Time:3 p.m.
Location: Queen's Park
Legislative Chamber

There will be two fixed media positions for coverage of the procession from the Lieutenant Governor's suite into the chamber:

  • East of the chamber doors on the south side of the second-floor hallway
  • North side of the second-floor hallway, across from the chamber doors

The Legislative Assembly's Broadcast and Recording Service will provide a pool feed of the procession from the Lieutenant Governor's Suite and the reading of the Speech from the Throne in the chamber to members of the Queen's Park Press Gallery.

The Broadcast and Recording Service will also issue passes for the public galleries to still media photographers. The usual restrictions relating to taking pictures apply and photographers should apply for passes early since space is limited.

Press photographers will also be able to take photographs from the media gallery above the Speaker's dais.

The public will be able to watch the proceedings on the Assembly's television channel and website, as well as the Premier's website.

Premier Kathleen Wynne will be available to the media immediately after the Speech from the Throne in room 247.
