Ontario MPPs Assigned New Roles

Six Ontario MPPs took on new roles today to help Premier Kathleen Wynne and her team create jobs and build a fair society for everyone. 

The Premier made the following changes to the Parliamentary Assistant portfolios:

  • Dipika Damerla becomes Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport and the Minister Responsible for Pan/Parapan American Games;
  • Donna Cansfield becomes Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Research and Innovation;
  • Bas Balkissoon becomes Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Education;
  • Mike Colle becomes Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Transportation and the Minister of Infrastructure;

Kevin Flynn becomes the Chief Government Whip, in addition to his current role as Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Transportation and the Minister of Infrastructure.

Laura Albanese becomes Deputy Government Whip in addition to her role as Parliamentary Assistant to the Premier.
