Joint Statement by Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne and P.E.I. Premier Wade MacLauchlan
Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne and P.E.I. Premier Wade MacLauchlan met in Toronto today and released the following statement:
"Premiers need to work together to address our shared challenges and seize new opportunities to grow our economies. To help Canada compete in the global economy and to improve productivity, our country needs a true and lasting commitment to investing in infrastructure. We need to make large-scale, sustained, coordinated infrastructure investments that drive productivity and support economic growth.
Both Ontario and P.E.I. agree that we need to work together to champion genuine cooperation between the federal government and provinces to invest in strategic infrastructure and build a true economic union for all Canadians.
We look forward to building on progress at future meetings of Canada's Premiers and working together in other areas that are important to people in both our provinces, such as health care innovation, skills training and the Canadian Energy Strategy.
Throughout our country's history, progress has been made through partnership, and we will continue to work with leaders across the country to build more opportunity and security for all Canadians."
