New Parliamentary Assistant to Focus on Climate Change

Premier Wynne Has Named MPP Thibeault to New Role

To support the government's efforts to combat climate change and ensure clean air, water and land, MPP Glenn Thibeault has taken on the role of Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of the Environment and Climate Change.

In this role, MPP Thibeault will support the development and implementation of a long-term strategy to address climate change. He will help facilitate strong relationships among the ministry and environmental and industry partners, and will also work with industry to identify additional economic opportunities and benefits of climate action.

Parliamentary Assistants help the government deliver on its priorities by supporting ministers with legislative and committee matters, working with community partners and industry groups, and undertaking special projects.

Quick Facts

  • MPP Thibeault will also participate in meetings of the Ministers’ Table on Climate Change and sit on the Communities, Resources and Justice Policy Committee.
  • There are now 30 Parliamentary Assistants in the Ontario government.
