New Hospital Strengthens Care for Brampton Residents

Peel Memorial Centre Part of Investments in Infrastructure Across Ontario

Office of the Premier

Ontario is helping people in the Brampton area get access to the health care services they need closer to home with an investment in the new Peel Memorial Centre for Integrated Health and Wellness.

Premier Kathleen Wynne was in Brampton today to celebrate the opening of the new centre, which brings together a full range of health care services under one roof.

The hospital will provide outpatient care and same-day surgeries at its Urgent Care Centre. It will ease the pressure on neighbouring hospitals and help patients with non-life-threatening illnesses or injuries to get access to the care they need and receive that treatment more quickly.

Patients will also have access to dieticians, chiropractors and other specialized services such as dialysis day clinics, clinics for expectant and new mothers, targeted care for youth and seniors, wellness programs, and mental health and addictions programs.

Increasing access to health care by building and upgrading hospitals is part of our plan to create jobs, grow our economy and help people in their everyday lives.

Quick Facts

  • Ontario is investing up to $451 million in the Peel Memorial Centre for Integrated Health and Wellness to complement the services at Brampton Civic Hospital and Etobicoke General Hospital.
