Premier Ford Congratulates Premier-designate King of Prince Edward Island

Office of the Premier

TORONTO — Premier Doug Ford issued the following statement following the provincial election in Prince Edward Island:

"Canadians from the Maritimes to the West are standing up and looking to a new future for Canada — a future of economic growth, jobs and prosperity.

A movement is growing across this country. A movement that is putting the priorities of families, workers and job-creators ahead of the interests of the insiders. A movement to make everyday life more affordable by putting more money back in your pocket. A movement that will work together, across provincial borders, to create and protect jobs.

Because, as Premier-designate Dennis King of Prince Edward Island says, at the end of the day it's all about people.

Congratulations to Premier-designate King on his victory last night. I look forward to working with the new government of PEI and with premiers across Canada as we continue the important work of cutting red tape, removing interprovincial trade barriers and fighting for Canadian jobs."
