Executive Biography

Harinder Malhi was elected as the Member of Provincial Parliament, representing Brampton, Springdale, in June 2014.

Malhi currently serves as Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sports. She was previously Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister Responsible for Women’s Issues.

In 2010, Harinder was elected as a School Trustee and represented Brampton Wards 9 and 10 for the Peel District School Board. She served as Trustee for 3½ years before deciding to run for MPP.

During her term, she demonstrated her commitment to education and the community as she built strong relationships between students, parents, staff and community members to further education in Peel.

Harinder learned the value of hard work and being involved in the community at an early age as her family was always very active in the local community.

Harinder has been actively involved in many community organizations, including an administrator for summer camps; and she volunteers with municipal, provincial and federal organizations, such as the Canadian-South Asians Supporting Independent Living (CSASIL) Association in Brampton; and collects donations for local shelters and food banks.

Harinder has lived and worked in the Brampton area for the past 18 years and is very proud to call Brampton her home.
