Francophone Community Grants Program

Ministry of Francophone Affairs

The Francophone Community Grants Program will help Ontario's community organizations as well as francophone businesses and those that serve French-speaking Ontarians to implement projects that enhance the cultural and commercial vitality of the French-speaking population by driving community and economic development.

SCOPE OF THE PROGRAM

The Francophone Community Grants Program is an application-based grant program. The 2019-20 edition of the Program continues to support local cultural and community initiatives and has expanded its scope to include a focus on economic development.

The Program has two funding streams: a cultural and community stream open to not-for-profit organizations, and an economic development stream open to businesses serving the French-speaking community. These entrepreneurs and businesses either:

  • operate in a francophone community
  • offer products/services to a francophone market in Ontario
  • present a realistic business expansion plan supported by market data to start operating in or providing products/services to a francophone market in Ontario
